Jeff Goodman has been practicing law since 1985. Family law is one of Mr. Goodman’s main areas of expertise. In his practice, he seeks sensible solutions that address the best interests of children, while zealously advocating for the rights of his clients. Jeff works regularly in the areas of dissolution, divorce, custody and parenting time matters, modifications, DHS matters, prenuptial agreements, adoptions and guardianships. He has extensive experience working with complex property and support matters, and challenging family dynamics.
Mr. Goodman has offered Collaborative divorce for more than ten years. A collaborative process offers clients the opportunity to craft creative solutions to their family law situation in a confidential setting, and with a respectful and dignified approach. Jeff believes fervently in finding positive outcomes for families.
Mr. Goodman also has significant experience in estate planning and probate administration. He understands the challenges that individuals and families face, and can guide his clients to optimal choices.
Mr. Goodman has been a writer for legal publications, and a presenter at local bar association educational events. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Vanderbilt University College of Law. While at Vanderbilt, he was an editor and a published writer on the Vanderbilt Law Review. Jeff started his legal career in New York City as an associate at Hughes, Hubbard & Reed and Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens. He lives on the East side, where he actively participates as a board member and volunteer for non-profit groups. He enjoys cooking, woodworking, the outdoors, travel, and spending time with his wife and two children.
